Pioneer Manual
Description High sensitivity, outstanding circuit design in a new AM/FM receiver. The Pioneer SX-1050 puts every significant AM/FM receiver feature together in a strikingly handsome package. From a highly sensitive FM front end, a high selectivity IF section, to the low distortion, big power amplifier section that delivers the outstanding continuous power output of 120 watts per channel min RMS at 8 ohms from 20 to 20,000Hz, with no more than 0.1% total harmonic distortion, the SX-1050 radiates the excellence that the stereo buff has come to expect from Pioneer electronics. Such features as a phase locked loop IC in the MPX section, the audible multipath switch that helps eliminate FM wave interference, and the highly advanced equalizer section are not just extra touches in this receiver, but exemplify the considerable thought that has been applied to the overall design and circuit of the SX-1050.
Other important contributions to flawless sound include the Pioneer Twin Tone Control, the Toroidal-core transformer, the two very large capacitors in the power supply section - all calculated to reproduce the sound spectrum with stability arid full component protection in the inimitable Pioneer style. Reviewed Jan 23rd, 2018 by I am on my second SX-1050 (the original one is kept for spare parts) For the money, you can not go wrong. I remember when my speakers were delivered (Pioneer CS-603) and I attached a wire to the antenna terminal and the first song I heard was Eric Clapton - Bad Love, and let me tell you. My chest cavity was reverberating, kinda like how you feel it when you're at the top-fuel funny car races and the sound the cars makes rattles your rib cage - yeah THAT kind of feeling.

Anywho, I absolutely love this workhorse, and the lights flicker when you crank it. Luckily the neighbors next door appreciate classic rock, but I believe THIS was the way classic rock was meant to be listened to. If you see one, grab it!!!:). Hi guys, Doing a recap on mine some small issues but worked fine.
Just wanted too play it safe. I replaced the Output Transistors first and Bam blew 10 amp fuse now waiting for new Insulators and silicone paste weird tested everything after that happened and found 1 new trans with issue, harnesses check out OK before and after. I am new to this but have worked on cars all my life figured can't be that hard right wrong lol. I did start off doing a sx-780 first to get some practice soldering came out great. I ordered A Transistor, Diode tester going to rebuild Amp Board and Power supplies A & B heard AWR-103 causes problems and there is a list on AK for all parts just remember to add same parts# or you'll end up with only 1 of each with the bom.
Shipping from mouser gets expensive. Mine also lights up with outputs connectors removed but don't recommend testing it that way with everything connected my Surge protector starts to heat up Immediately? I shut it right down! Any help here would be appreciated. Sincerely Stuck Mike W.
